Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant looking to take on new challenges and responsibilities? We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and school leaders to contribute to the planning and development of curriculum activities, lead and deliver lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, and provide targeted support to individuals and groups of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver lessons, ensuring the continued progress and engagement of students.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and groups of students, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of curriculum activities, working closely with teachers and school leaders.
  • Assist in the assessment of student progress, providing valuable insights and feedback to contribute to ongoing improvement.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying informed about best practices and educational innovations.
Requirements
  • Qualified as HLTA or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a demonstrated ability to lead lessons and support diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a genuine passion for contributing to the educational success of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field.
