Special Educational Needs Support Assistant

Overview:
GSL Education - Watford is seeking to recruit several skilled Special Educational Needs Support Assistants to work within various educational institutions. We are looking for individuals who have a background in supporting children, young adults, or individuals with special educational needs, or those who have experience in care environments.

As a Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Have a minimum of one year of experience in providing support within educational or care settings.
  • Assist students facing emotional and behavioral challenges to help them engage with the curriculum effectively.
  • Exhibit a high level of care, empathy, and ambition for the students' development.
  • Possess the relevant skills and experience to cater to a diverse student population, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Provide support to SEN students through individualized and small group activities.
  • Have experience in assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress.

Additionally, candidates must hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be prepared to apply for a new one through GSL Education. Furthermore, you should be able to provide two professional references from educational settings.
