Residential Care Operations Leader - Competitive Salary + Benefits

Role Overview

The Residential Care Operations Leader will oversee and manage services within a designated area, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legislative standards while delivering high-quality care to children.

The primary objective is to foster stability, develop exceptional services with well-trained professionals, and achieve financial sustainability to facilitate growth and positive outcomes for young individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management of care delivery and service environments.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Home Managers.
  • Step in to manage operations during Home Manager absences or vacancies to ensure continuity.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Work within the agreed strategies, budgets, and plans of the organization.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of service progress and organizational development.
  • Collaborate with the ROC Northwest Senior Management team and CareTech Management to enhance service quality across the group.
  • Ensure that each children's home meets and exceeds the standards outlined in its Statement of Purpose and complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead safeguarding initiatives to ensure the safety of all children and staff, maintaining compliance with current safeguarding practices.
  • Work with the Service Director to achieve agreed admissions and placement targets.
  • Ensure effective placement plans, risk assessments, and relevant documentation are in place for resident children.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of a competent and motivated staff team across all homes, including conducting management investigations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Conduct training needs assessments for the region and assist in the planning and delivery of training programs.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Senior management experience within the care sector; exceptional candidates seeking advancement will be considered.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management for Care Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with staff and young individuals.
  • Knowledge of equality and anti-discrimination policies and practices.
  • Expertise in driving and managing change within a service.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practice initiatives.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong presentation skills for communicating with various stakeholders.
