About the Role:

Nugent is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Residential Care team. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in managing the daily operations of our residential care setting, working with children and young people in a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct line management to a small number of Childcare Workers, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to deliver high-quality care.
  • Develop and implement care and risk plans in partnership with referring authorities, therapeutic services, senior management, and education settings.
  • Model best practice in terms of providing high-quality care for young people, adhering to children's homes legislation, regulations, and inspection frameworks.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in children's care and ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and significant experience working in a childcare setting, ideally residential.
  • Excellent administration and IT skills, including experience with electronic care records and auditing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including first-rate literacy and numerical skills.
  • Knowledge of current childcare legislation, including the Ofsted Inspection Framework for Children's Homes and Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
