Tutor for Supported Internship Programme

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and creative Tutor to join our Supported Internship programme. As a Tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with young people with a learning disability, learning difficulty, and/or autism, helping them access the world of work.
About the Role
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) in the Kingston area. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team, teaching English and Maths by embedding it into lessons about employability. You will also teach further life skills that will have a direct impact on the way your learners interact with their wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver elements of teaching, learning, and assessment to learners, including accredited functional skills in both English and Mathematics.
- Work closely with team members to provide holistic support in finding paid employment.
- Teach English and Maths by embedding it into lessons about employability.
- Teach further life skills that will have a direct impact on the way your learners interact with their wider community.
Requirements
- Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities.
- Experience of delivering against targets.
- Experience of working with a diverse group of learners.
- A-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent).
- Recognised teaching qualification at level 5 (DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd).
- Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills English and maths up to level 2.
- Experience & knowledge of safe working practices.
- Good classroom management skills and strategies.
- Good time management and planning skills.
