Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 2 who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and be responsible for providing support and guidance to help them reintegrate into mainstream class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the child with ASD, focusing on building strong relationships and positively impacting their learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with the child's teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials and resources to meet the child's needs.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to support the child's inclusion in mainstream class.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with ASD and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to providing high-quality support and guidance.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEND support, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
