About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lunchtime Assistant to join our Education department. As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the welfare and social care of our pupils with complex physical disabilities and health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate pupils within manual handling guidelines
  • Act as an advocate for pupils, representing their views as appropriate and required
  • Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety at all times
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, implementing related personal programs
  • Prepare the lunchtime area and clear away afterwards
  • Assist pupils with serving food and taking medication
  • Encourage pupils to interact with each other and adults, engaging in activities
  • Assist pupils with daily living tasks, such as washing and dressing
  • Be aware of pupils' sensory needs, special dietary requirements, and medical needs
Requirements
  • Good relationship building skills with colleagues and pupils/adults
  • Team player with a basic understanding of technology, including Microsoft packages
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety
  • Previous experience working with SEN children and adults (desirable)
