Job Title: Teaching Assistant for SEN Students

Job Type: Full-time, Long-term

Location: North London

Rate: £80-100 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in North London. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, including severe (SLD) and profound learning disabilities (PMLD) and autism (ASD).

Responsibilities:

  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
  • Assist teachers with alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy to encourage joint working and communication skills, or intensive interaction sessions to help pupils develop attention and interaction skills.
  • Be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS.
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant with students affected by ASD, SLD, and PMLD.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
