We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team at LeMieux, a leading global equestrian company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the fit and technical process of all horse products and accessories from initial sample to delivery handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of technical specifications, ensuring all attributes are correct and well communicated.
- Lead fit sessions for all relevant products, relay fit comments and amendments to suppliers, and maintain accurate fit records.
- Collaborate with the Design team to create clear technical packs, including size specifications and construction details.
- Update size specifications, record comments and data, and monitor the sampling process.
- Prepare test reports and approvals.
- Maintain a physical sample library and storage.
- Keep accurate logs and updates of sample status.
- Check incoming samples for measurement and design discrepancies.
- Assist in Quality Control, checking production/received stock for sizing and fabric consistency, and work with the Returns department to improve product quality.
- Daily liaison with overseas suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and the critical path stays up to date.
Requirements:
- Proven industry experience in a similar role, preferably in sports/equestrian wear product development.
- Product/Garment Technologist Qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of garment fit, technical construction, and make-up, and confident in grading and sizing.
- Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working with overseas factories.
- Ability to follow and manage time according to the critical path.
- CAD skills and experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
- Ability to take initiative and assist where necessary.
- Ability to work alone and within a team, in a fast-paced environment.
- Equestrian background is not essential, but being passionate about product is essential.
