About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Technologist to join our team at LeMieux. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for managing the fit and technical process of all horse products and accessories from initial sample to delivery handover.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and makeup of samples across multiple product areas, as well as overseeing all aspects of garment fit, testing, and wearer trials. You will work closely with overseas factories to address comments and ensure that all products meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation of spec sheets to ensure accurate technical attributes and clear communication with suppliers.
  • Lead fit sessions for relevant products, relay fit comments and amendments to suppliers, and maintain up-to-date fit records.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create clear technical packs, including size specs and construction details, to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
  • Update size specs, document comments and data, and monitor the sampling process to ensure timely progress.
  • Prepare test reports and obtain approvals.
  • Maintain a physical sample library and storage system.
  • Keep accurate logs of sample status and check incoming samples for measurement and design discrepancies.
  • Contribute to quality control by checking production and received stock for sizing and fabric consistency, and work with the returns department to improve product quality.
  • Establish and maintain daily liaison with overseas suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and the critical path stays on track.
Requirements
  • Proven industry experience in a similar role, preferably in sports/equestrian wear product development.
  • Product/Garment Technologist Qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of garment fit, technical construction, and make-up, with confidence in grading and sizing.
  • Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience working with overseas factories.
  • Ability to manage time effectively according to the critical path.
  • CAD skills and experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to take initiative and assist where necessary.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Equestrian background not essential, but passion for product and interest in the equestrian world are highly valued.
