POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Power Systems Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and support of various power generation products and clients within NOV's Portable Power division across Europe. Your expertise in mechanical servicing of diesel-powered generators and related equipment will be vital for success in this position. This role requires delivering high-quality installations, commissioning, maintenance, and support services to our clientele. The position is based in a workshop environment, with occasional travel to various sites as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute operations related to rental and sales packages in accordance with NOV protocols, which include but are not limited to:
    • Scheduled maintenance
    • Repairs
    • Refurbishments
    • P&ID inspections
    • Mechanical completion verifications
    • Factory acceptance evaluations
    • Functional assessments
    • Instrument evaluations
    • Site acceptance evaluations
  • Collaborate with Workshop Supervisors, Project teams, Management, Clients, and Vendors regarding operational tasks
  • Prepare, assess, and complete work orders necessary for operational functions
  • Provide after-sales services under management guidance, including inspections, spare parts management, and technical advice, coordinating with engineering teams as required.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to deliver exceptional service support outside of regular hours
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering
  • City & Guilds certification in a Mechanical Engineering-related field
EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven mechanical expertise in installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance, particularly in offshore settings (essential)
  • Ability to interpret and annotate engineering schematics (essential)
  • Familiarity with Deep Sea control systems (desirable)
  • Experience with PLC programming (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Iveco, and Perkins engines (desirable)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Understanding of industry standards (essential)
  • Experience with diesel-powered generators (desirable)
  • Experience with gas-powered generators (desirable)
