About the Role

Ecclesiastical Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Investment Analyst to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert capital modelling and actuarial advice to support our investment and business decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and calibration of our capital model for investment and market risk, working closely with the Head of Investments.
  • Deliver high-quality investment analysis, including capital modelling, to inform our investment strategy.
  • Monitor and analyse changes to our ESG model, ensuring its impact on Group Capital is accurately reflected.
  • Provide timely and accurate quarterly updates on market risk and economic scenario generator (ESG) outputs to the Group Capital Team.
  • Present and justify changes to model design and calibration to a panel of actuarial managers for independent challenge.
  • Prepare reports for the Group's internal model governance oversight committee, summarising changes to market risk and/or ESG model design or calibration.
  • Design solutions to address model weaknesses and limitations identified in market risk modelling.
  • Maintain market risk and ESG documentation, including model output analysis, calibration, and methodology.
  • Lead the development of investment data solutions to support model inputs for our investment portfolio.
  • Contribute to discussions within the team or department as needed.
  • Participate in technical actuarial discussions on market risk and actuarial concepts.
  • Serve as the key contact for market risk within the Group actuarial teams, Finance, and our ESG provider.
Requirements
  • Degree in a math-based subject, with 6+ actuarial exams achieved.
  • Relevant experience in an actuarial role.
  • Strong communication skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships.
  • Strong technical skill set, applying existing knowledge to new situations.
  • Demonstrates sound and commercial judgement, designing practical and proportionate solutions.
  • Proven willingness and ability to engage with and challenge the business.
  • Desirable: previous experience in investments, experience with Igloo software.
