About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopy Decontamination Technician to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our Endoscopy department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective cleaning and preparation of endoscopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and preparing endoscopes after training and in adherence to Health & Safety guidelines.
- Coordinating and managing workload in the decontamination room to ensure efficient patient sessions.
- Maintaining adequate supplies and assisting with the receipt and storage of goods into and out of the decontamination room.
- Ensuring decontamination records are maintained and compiled for the Endoscopy manager.
- Liaising with the Infection Control Department and Head of Sterile Services to maintain best practice.
- Participating in decontamination and infection control audits.
Person Specification
We are looking for an individual with:
- Endoscopy experience and decontamination knowledge.
- Previous experience in an acute setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
