About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to children and young people in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-led community paediatric services to children and families in south Northamptonshire.
  • Conduct regular outpatient clinics and assessments of children within the Child Development Centre.
  • Liaise with schools and education authorities as necessary to ensure seamless care.
  • Manage a range of neurodevelopmental difficulties, including ADHD, ASD, and learning difficulties.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and management plans in a collaborative way with the team.
  • Provide paediatric advice and support for pupils attending special schools.
Requirements
  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • CCT for Community Child Health or evidence of Level 3 competencies in Community Child Health.
  • On the GMC specialist register or within 3 months of CCT.
  • 5 years Higher Specialist Training, including 3 years in Community Paediatrics.
  • At least 2 years General Professional Training in paediatrics.
  • Training and experience of safeguarding work and possession of up to date Level 3 Safeguarding training.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • MSc, MD, PhD, or other higher degree.
  • DCH, DCCH, MBA, or other relevant diplomas.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Teaching and audit experience.
  • Publications in recognized journals.
  • Research projects relating to the specialty.
