About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on a maternity cover basis. As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Finance Director and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Obtain approval of invoices from budget holders
- Post invoices
- Maintain organized filing of invoices
- Prepare weekly payment runs for review
- Submit payments to online banking for authorization
- Post and allocate payments
- Ensure the purchase ledger is kept up to date
- Investigate any differences and ensure all balances are understood
- Maintain the AP inbox
- Proactively respond to internal and external queries, escalating where necessary
- Accounts Receivable:
- Post ecommerce and retail sales transactions
- Prepare wholesale invoices
- Banking:
- Post all bank, credit card, and petty cash transactions
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and petty cash
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Competent user of Sage 200
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Multi-currency experience
- Strong attention to detail
- An organized approach
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
