We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at Newlands House, a residential care home for people with physical disabilities.
About the Role:
- Deliver a varied menu that is healthy and nutritionally balanced, meeting specific dietary requirements for customers.
- Work within an agreed budget to ensure an efficiently run kitchen, supervising staff who will assist in food preparation.
- Maintain exceptional levels of hygiene and cleanliness, meeting Health, Safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Opportunity to become creative, providing catering for functions and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for residents, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Monitor and control kitchen expenses, ensuring budget targets are met.
- Develop and implement menus, considering dietary requirements and resident preferences.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a care home or hospitality setting.
- Strong culinary skills, with knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
