We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our School of Psychiatry as Head of School. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical education and training in the NHS.
About the RoleThe Head of School will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality education and training in Psychiatry, working closely with the Postgraduate Dean and other stakeholders. The role will involve developing and implementing strategies to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience, as well as engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and management, with experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and workforce development. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the NHS England mandate and the role of the Head of School in delivering it.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of high-quality education and training in Psychiatry
- Develop and implement strategies to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience
- Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes
- Work closely with the Postgraduate Dean and other stakeholders to deliver the NHS England mandate
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of education and training
- Contribute to workforce planning and development to ensure the NHS has the right skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and workforce development
- Deep understanding of the NHS England mandate and the role of the Head of School
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
