The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining fixed traffic signals and associated equipment for Highways England or Local Authorities.

Main Responsibilities

The Traffic Signals Engineer will ensure all works are carried out with full regard for safety, supporting the PFI Business Manager(s) and Traffic Signals Supervisor in producing and maintaining the HEA/NHSS 8 Sector Scheme portfolio. The role involves producing test and handover documentation, self-auditing work activities, and completing maintenance/periodic inspections in line with the agreed schedule.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have Traffic Signal Maintenance experience and an electrical background, with experience in identifying faults, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment. A valid ECS/CSCS/HEA card, electrically qualified to BS 7671 wiring regulations (17th Edition), and City & Guilds Inspection & Testing are essential requirements.

Package Description

Colas offers a great total compensation package, including a salary between £30,000 and £33,000 (dependent on experience), Colas Pension Scheme with combined contributions of up to 10%, Life Assurance Scheme, 25 days annual leave per year + Public Holidays, and opportunities to study towards a fully funded Professional Qualification.
