Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and efficient management of permits to preserve the free flow of the Highway network.
  • Authorise and set permit conditions, process requests, monitor works within the permitting system, liaise with third parties, and provide performance reporting data.
  • Conduct assessments of the nature, location, timing, and duration of works and other activities affecting Portsmouth's network, identifying potential for interaction and conflict.
  • Decide on the appropriate use of statutory controls for minimising disruption, in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA).
  • Liaise closely across the Network Management Team to ensure informed and effective coordination of all works.
  • Monitor day-to-day works promoter compliance and performance, identifying and resolving non-compliances and performance issues.

Requirements:

  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) and a CSCS certification.
  • Experience in highway engineering/street works coordination.
  • Numerate and computer literate with MS Office experience, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work to targets and tight deadlines.

Colas Ltd offers a great total compensation package, including a salary between £22,308 and £24,000, Colas Pension Scheme, Life Assurance Scheme, 25 days annual leave per year + Public Holidays, and more.
