Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the current team to conduct neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral evaluations for children and adolescents aged 0–18 years. Referrals are processed through the Pan-Dorset Development and Behavioral Pathway.
• Address co-existing conditions such as ADHD, tics, and epilepsy.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Specialist Registrars while fulfilling the community pediatric responsibilities of their training.
• Cultivate a specialized area of interest that enhances the existing service offerings.
• Engage in clinical activities within a special education setting.

Candidate Profile Education, Qualifications & Training Essential Criteria- Full GMC Registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via; CCT, CESAR, or European Community Rights
- An appropriate higher surgical/medical qualification
- Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Resuscitation skills training within the last 4 years
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Paediatrics at a middle level, including 6 months in a tertiary neonatal unit or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to manage the demands of a DGH-based Consultant role
- Experience in a specialized interest that complements existing departmental services
- Willingness to engage in the general service components of the job description
- Evidence of the clinical competencies necessary for both general and community aspects of the role
- Proven leadership and service development skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships and teamwork
- Understanding of clinical governance, with experience in audit and research
- General management training and skills relevant to the position, with the ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust
- Familiarity with the organizational structure of the NHS
- Demonstrated teaching experience and abilities relevant to the role, with effective communication skills
