Consultant Community Paediatrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our dynamic team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community Paediatric service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people in our community.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for working with our existing team to provide neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioural assessments for children aged 0-18 years. You will also manage co-morbidities such as ADHD, tics, and epilepsy, and undertake clinical supervision and training of Specialist Registrars. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop a specific area of interest to complement our existing service provision.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in Paediatrics, with at least 5 years of clinical experience at middle level, including 6 months of experience in a tertiary neonatal unit or equivalent. You will also have experience demonstrating potential ability to cope with the demands of a District General Hospital-based Consultant and a willingness to develop a specific area of interest to complement our existing service provision.
Abilities and KnowledgeThe successful candidate will have evidence of leadership and service development, ability to develop effective working relationships and team working, and knowledge of clinical governance. You will also have experience of teaching and communication, and be able to contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust.
