About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Technician to join our Test and Development team at Alexander Dennis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical system faults on our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical system faults on our vehicles
  • Work on high and low voltage systems for EV and hybrid vehicles
  • Utilize laptop-based diagnostic software for engines, gearboxes, CAN, and vehicle systems
  • Build and modify harnesses from drawings (24V, High Voltage, and CAN)
  • Conduct thorough fault finding and rectification
  • Maintain a solid understanding of vehicle harnesses and various termination components
Requirements
  • Good knowledge and experience of automotive electrical and mechanical systems, ideally commercial vehicle experience
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams
  • Able to record and update circuit diagrams
  • Experience with high voltage and CAN systems
  • Experience in fault finding and resolution
  • Experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment
  • Knowledge and ability to carry out mechanical tests
  • Good communicator (working with Electrical design, suppliers etc.)
  • Fluent in MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • PSV or HGV license is desirable
  • Aware basic workshop machine tool operation
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Experience with laptop-based diagnostic equipment
  • Able to demonstrate instrumentation and data logging equipment experience (Analogue and CAN systems)
