Electrical Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Test and Development team at Alexander Dennis in Farnborough. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical systems on our vehicles, including high voltage systems and CAN network harnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including high voltage systems and CAN network harnesses.
  • Work on both high and low voltage systems for EV and hybrid vehicles.
  • Utilize laptop-based diagnostic software for engines, gearboxes, CAN, and vehicle systems.
  • Build and modify harnesses from drawings (24V, High Voltage, and CAN).
  • Conduct thorough fault finding and rectification.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge and experience of automotive electrical and mechanical systems, ideally commercial vehicle experience.
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Able to record and update circuit diagrams.
  • Experience with high voltage and CAN systems.
  • Experience in fault finding and resolution.
  • Experience with instrumentation and data logging equipment.
