About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastic Surgeon to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Microsurgery Reconstruction, you will play a key role in the development of our breast surgery and reconstruction service at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide benign and malignant breast surgery work, including microsurgical breast reconstruction, to ensure the continued development of the Sheffield breast surgery and reconstruction service.
  • Support the Trauma service at Northern General site for general plastic trauma and semi-elective conditions.
  • Participate in a trauma on-call rota, covering both Trusts, involving Northern General, Royal Hallamshire, and the Sheffield Children's hospital.
  • Undertake outpatient clinics, elective operating sessions, ward round duties, and supporting activities amounting to 10 programmed activities per week.

Requirements
  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
  • GMC registered with General Surgery (Breast) or Plastic Surgery Specialty.
  • Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview.
  • FRCS or equivalent.
  • If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
Desirable Qualifications
  • MD or PhD or equivalent.
