Job Title: Payroll Administrator

At Fairmont St. Andrews, we are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the administration and monitoring of our colleagues' time and attendance system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate rotas are created and closed on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with the payroll bureau to ensure accuracy of processing and for deduction summaries and earning statements.
  • Prepare and review daily and weekly payroll reports against forecast.
  • Administer overtime and lieu, handling salary queries, making wage corrections or adjustments, and handling over payments.
  • Provide onboarding support and administration, including leaver administration and contractual changes.
  • Record, monitor, and report on absence and all other leave, ensuring accuracy of NML/NMW rates.
  • Administer pension schemes and foster communication and compliance in the use of the system, training and supporting new managers.
  • Provide general administration assistance within Finance, including processing monthly payroll runs and liaising with department heads to validate data for processing.
  • Prepare payroll cost analysis and journals for review and posting.
Requirements:
  • Payroll qualifications preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and employment tax experience.
  • 2+ years' experience desired.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, and numerical abilities.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
