We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Harris Junior Academy Carshalton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to a child, assisting in the development of resources and teaching strategies, and contributing to a purposeful and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support a child in a 1:1 capacity
- Assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on the child's achievement, progress, and needs
- Attend to children's personal needs, including social, health, physical, first aid, and welfare matters
- Support with behavior management
- Contribute to a purposeful and supportive learning environment
- Qualifications to degree level or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers
- Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviors
- Knowledge of social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace
- Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students
- Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders
- Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload
