Security Officer

Location: Towcester, UK

Compensation: £13 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent – 42 hours per week + Overtime - Flexible Shifts (Days, Nights & Weekends)

Role Overview

As a Security Officer with Securitas, your role transcends that of a traditional Security Guard. You will be responsible for safeguarding our clients, their personnel, facilities, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service. Our commitment to providing a secure environment is paramount, and you will play a key role in executing professional security measures for our client. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks such as patrolling, surveillance, and conducting inspections.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the onsite Supervisor, stationed at a significant facility for an international client in the defence sector.
  • Play an essential role in safeguarding sensitive information across various domains including air, maritime, land, and cyber.
  • Securely monitor the premises, including managing a static guard post and protecting the client's assets, employees, and visitors.
  • Conduct thorough patrols throughout the expansive facility, covering both internal and external perimeters.
  • Stay vigilant to identify and deter any suspicious or potentially harmful activities, maintaining control until authorities arrive.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, documenting and reporting any hazards or faults.
  • Utilize communication devices and other security equipment as required on site.
  • Perform initial investigations and provide both verbal and written reports on incidents, suspicious activities, and observations.

In addition, your duties as a Security Officer will encompass:

  • Collaborating with the onsite Supervisor to ensure compliance with site and operational requirements.
  • Protecting critical information and assets for our defence sector client.
  • Conducting regular patrols to ensure safety and security.
  • Remaining alert to detect and respond to any unusual or threatening behavior.
  • Following health and safety procedures diligently.
  • Documenting and reporting any safety concerns.
  • Operating communication devices and security equipment effectively.
  • Conducting preliminary investigations and reporting findings.
  • Maintaining control of any potentially dangerous situations until external assistance arrives.
Essential Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid SIA licence or be willing to obtain one through Securitas.
  • Must have held British nationality for a minimum of five years due to National Security requirements.
  • Provide valid proof of the right to work in the UK and successfully pass security clearance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Make informed decisions promptly and justify them when necessary.
  • Maintain a reasonable level of fitness, as walking and foot patrols are integral to the role.
  • Exhibit flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs and priorities.
