About the Role

At Amazon UK Services Ltd., the Operations function is essential to our success. This pivotal segment of our organization ensures that we efficiently fulfill and dispatch orders, guaranteeing timely delivery to our customers.

Operations Managers are the driving force behind our teams, fostering a culture of excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across our facilities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee and nurture a team of Area Managers.
  • Lead operational teams during shifts, addressing challenges and enhancing site performance.
  • Evaluate shift performance against key business objectives and implement strategies to elevate operational standards.
  • Collaborate closely with various support teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
  • Design and execute initiatives across the facilities to boost operational efficiency.
A Day in the Life

In this role, you will manage shifts at one of our operational sites and serve as a crucial link between multiple teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration. This position allows you to engage with daily operations while also contributing to innovative solutions for our site.

Your typical day will involve:

  • Conducting meetings with different business areas.
  • Analyzing performance and risk metrics for the sites.
  • Preparing for varying levels of demand.

Additionally, you will mentor and coach your team, providing leadership and support to help them excel in their managerial roles.

About the Team

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is integral to our ability to deliver efficiently. As part of ATS, you will join a diverse group that plays a central role in our operational success.

Utilizing air, sea, and road transport, along with state-of-the-art sortation centers, you will help ensure that Amazon's transportation runs at peak efficiency. Our team leverages data to inform decisions, driving innovation and efficiency within the organization.

Basic Qualifications
  • A degree.
  • Relevant experience in managing people and stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Relevant experience in production and supply chain operations.
Preferred Qualifications

While preferred qualifications are not mandatory for application, they can enhance your candidacy:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience in a similar logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional context.
