Role Overview

As the Assistant Manager at our Children's Care Facility, you will play a pivotal role in the effective management of the home, ensuring the well-being and development of both staff and the young individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-Management: Collaborate with the Registered Manager to oversee the operational budget and daily activities of the home.
  • Staff Development: Facilitate the growth and training of the care team, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality support.
  • Care Planning: Formulate and regularly update individual care plans, risk assessments, and positive behavior strategies for each young person.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant regulations and standards, ensuring the home meets all legal requirements.
  • Safeguarding: Implement and uphold the company's safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and welfare of all residents.
  • Communication: Ensure timely communication with local authority social workers regarding significant events affecting the young people.
  • Quality Assurance: Work towards continuous improvement of service delivery, addressing any feedback from inspections.
  • Training and Development: Complete necessary training and maintain up-to-date records to support professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in a residential care setting, ideally in a supervisory role.
  • Level 3 Qualification in Children in Residential Care (or equivalent).
  • GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Level 5 Qualification in Leadership & Management in Children's Services is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with social and emotional needs.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
