Job Summary:

Leaving Care Solutions is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Worker to work on a casual basis, covering shifts within the business as and when needed.

About the Role:

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will provide a responsive, customized, and quality service to young people placed in their individual flat or shared house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in line with person-centered risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with support workers to provide a full handover.
  • Observe any change in behavior, ensuring appropriate actions are documented and report changes in support needs of any young person.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with young people, staff, and professionals by communicating effectively at all times.
  • Ensure continuous support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff, with particular focus on the safety of vulnerable people.
  • Carry out any necessary health and safety actions, including cleaning tasks, along with set policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as police and Emergency Duty Team (EDT).
  • Support young people who need to attend the hospital or police station.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable.
  • Flexibility in availability, as the role will include weekend work.
  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to study towards this.
  • Be willing to travel, with a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Excellent computer skills.
