Finance Business Partner Opportunity

We are seeking two experienced Finance Business Partners to join our Financial Services team at Mid Devon District Council. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our team and contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective service to the Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a Finance Assistant or Systems Accountant to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
  • Provide expert financial advice to budget holders and senior officers on all financial matters, including budget setting, monitoring, and closing.
  • Develop and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and support the delivery of efficiencies in the service support.
  • Manage a selection of financial functions, including Fixed Assets and Capital Accounting, VAT, Partial Exemption, and Treasury Management.
About You
  • You will be CCAB qualified or part qualified, with significant experience in an equivalent role and a comparable level of knowledge and capability.
  • You will have a strong technical understanding of Local Government accounting and excellent numeracy skills.
  • You will be able to communicate complex financial matters to non-finance officers and have extensive knowledge of MS Office software and financial software.
  • Previous management experience would be advantageous, as would a commitment to delivering a quality service.
