A flexible mindset is necessary to provide assistance to the multidisciplinary team while engaging with clients facing mental health challenges. The role involves regular telephone communication with clients and caregivers, highlighting the importance of strong communication abilities.
To adapt to the evolving needs of the service, the specialist may occasionally be asked to work outside their usual responsibilities. The organization retains the right to assign the specialist to different locations as needed.
Main Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated administrative professional to join our team at Wigan Talking Therapies. You will be an integral part of a group of administrators delivering essential administrative support to service users, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
The Administrative Support Specialist will be tasked with processing referrals promptly, ensuring that all personal information is recorded accurately and confidentially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling incoming calls to the service, scheduling appointments, and preparing general correspondence.
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the clinical team, managing a high volume of calls daily, and completing various administrative tasks.
- Completing additional administrative duties as required.

The postholder will be expected to work Monday to Friday during service hours to support Talking Therapies, delivering therapy to clients. Please note that this position is not available for job sharing or remote work and is for a specified number of hours per week.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in an administrative and office environment.
- GCSE education.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act.
