About this Opportunity
The Construction and Standards team at Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) professional to support the successful delivery of all MEP investments across live construction projects, sustainability initiatives, and ongoing Data Centre operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for retaining and building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and regularly reporting to the line manager on findings and any remedial plans required.
The ideal candidate will be based within commuting distance from the principal data centre locations in the East Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend internal pre-construction investment steering groups and working group meetings to assist internal stakeholders with all MEP matters.
- Manage all construction technical matters and queries, acting as a liaison between MEP consultant engineers, framework contractors, and construction oversight partners.
- Be familiar with the group's MEP & construction standards to ensure suppliers meet these requirements, and monitor evolving trends and regulations to ensure standards are current.
- Deal with incident management within the group's key data centres and critical buildings, including managing the escalation process and contributing to resolutions with the group's supply chain partners.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement with the group's suppliers.
- Chair meetings and liaise with stakeholders and key suppliers, including MEP consultant partners.
- Attend alternating project construction meetings to support framework contractors and MEP consultants.
- Manage construction aspects to ensure site environment, health & safety, wellbeing, quality, and commissioning are reported in a timely manner.
- Identify and mitigate embedded MEP services that impose a risk to project timeline and quality.
- Manage own resources and track progress for reporting to the line manager/lead engineer.
Requirements
- Significant industry experience in MEP construction, with a focus on project management.
- Relevant bachelor's degree in a property, engineering, or construction-related field.
- Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts, and health and safety requirements.
- Experience of working in diverse teams with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of working with common construction software, such as AutoCAD, BIM, and Document Management Portals.
- Experience and knowledge of sustainability pledges and their impact on M&E system design and implementation.
- Experience of working with critical infrastructure to meet required resiliency.
