About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Consultant to join our team at RSS Infrastructure. As a Project Consultant, you will play a key role in improving track access via our Track Access Solutions, providing efficiencies in productivity, safety, and commercially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert knowledge of track access solutions and their efficiencies.
  • Assess clients' current methods of track access and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Meet budgetary objectives while being cost-effective.
  • Liaise with Local Operations teams as needed.
  • Track project improvements provided by our solutions.
  • Ensure all access solutions are planned in line with NR standards and group policies.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and provide weekly updates.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers to provide training and equipment.
  • Support the creation of project processes for the implementation of track access solutions.
  • Support internal and external delivery teams with resource planning and allocation of staff.
  • Conduct site visits with clients to identify locations where our solutions can support.
  • Manage project administration, including documentation sent to clients.
  • Conduct project evaluation measurements and meetings with stakeholders for lessons learned.
  • Achieve minimum objectives and KPIs set by the business and line manager.
  • Undertake industry training as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in using the OnTrack system.
  • Experience of planning infrastructure projects in the rail industry.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Experience of working with project/programme management both internally and in a client organisation.
  • Practiced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • NR/L/OHS/O – Planning and delivering safe work – Safety of people at work on or near the line.
  • NR/L/OHS/O-IP – Planning and delivering safe work – Implementation principles for infrastructure Projects.
  • NWR Possession Planning System (PPS).
  • NWR Green Zone Access Controller (GZAC).
  • PTS AC, DC certified endorsed with SSOWP.
  • PPS Planner.
Desirable
  • Previous experience with ZKLRC.
  • Route knowledge of the East Coast Mainline (South).
  • Controller of Site Safety (COSS).
  • Engineering or Project Management Qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
