About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Renishaw. As a key member of our Embedded Software team, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and integration of firmware for our Additive Manufacturing systems.

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams to engineer user-centred designs for our products. You will also be responsible for guiding junior engineers through complex technical challenges and supporting their professional development.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in software development, particularly in the field of embedded systems. You should have experience with tools such as Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Enterprise Architect, GIT, and Atlassian suite. Proficiency in C and experience with ecosystems such as STM32, Zephyr, Linux, including using RTOS and multithreaded techniques for embedded applications, is also essential.

About You
  • Qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Passionate for developing software solutions and applying the best software practices into embedded deliverables.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Enterprise Architect, GIT, and Atlassian suite.
  • Proficient in C.
  • Experience with ecosystems such as STM32, Zephyr, Linux, including using RTOS and multithreaded techniques for embedded applications.
  • Experience with using PCB layout tools to capture the firmware requirements/specifications, and to assist in debugging development boards.
