About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Renishaw. As a key member of our Embedded Software team, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and integration of firmware for our Additive Manufacturing system and other platforms.

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams to engineer user-centred designs for our products. You will also be responsible for guiding junior engineers through complex technical challenges and supporting their professional development.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in software development, particularly in the field of embedded systems. You should have experience with tools such as Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Enterprise Architect, GIT, and Atlassian suite. Proficiency in C and experience with ecosystems such as STM32, Zephyr, Linux, including using RTOS and multithreaded techniques for embedded applications, is also essential.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to research and develop new software-oriented solutions for a wide range of platforms, from STM32 Micros to Cortex-A ARM processors. You will also influence software practices to improve quality and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

About You
  • You should be qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
  • You should be passionate about developing software solutions and applying best software practices to embedded deliverables.
  • You should have knowledge of tools such as Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Enterprise Architect, GIT, and Atlassian suite.
  • You should be proficient in C and have experience with ecosystems such as STM32, Zephyr, Linux, including using RTOS and multithreaded techniques for embedded applications.
  • You should be experienced in using PCB layout tools to capture firmware requirements/specifications and assist in debugging development boards.
