About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Outreach and Engagement Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with community partners, charities, and disability groups to increase public access and participation to our public programmes, festivals, and venues.
Key Responsibilities
- To proactively develop, nurture, manage, and grow relationships with under-represented and served community partners, charities, and disabled community groups for our Southbank and Festivals programmes and services.
- Work with colleagues in Marketing, Inclusion, and Programming to develop strategic plans to grow audience engagement in key target audience segments, including Black and Global Majority, 25 and under, disabled, Lambeth, and Southwark residents and employers.
- To encourage and develop cross-team working and collaboration between the team, and when working across the BFI, with external partners and stakeholders.
- Be an ambassador for the BFI and maintain a professional approach at all times.
Requirements
- Significant experience in inclusion work, community outreach, and relationship management in a cultural, heritage, or educational venue environment.
- Experience of working in a relationship management role with groups historically under-served and under-represented in cultural spaces.
- Experience of working effectively and collaboratively with senior teams, including at a senior level, with the ability to liaise, develop, and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues and external agencies.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with an approachable and proactive mindset.
- A commitment to fostering inclusion in cultural spaces.
