About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Matchtech, a leading engineering consultancy. This role involves working on a variety of building projects, from residential developments to commercial buildings, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Design: Develop and validate structural designs for various building projects, ensuring they meet safety, durability, and sustainability criteria.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to ensure designs integrate seamlessly with other disciplines.
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
  • Site Visits: Conduct occasional site visits to assess existing structures and monitor the progress of ongoing projects.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, calculations, and documentation for client presentations and project approvals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design engineering, particularly within the building sector.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, Tekla, SAP2000, or similar).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, and other relevant building regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
