This role at Isle of Wight Council involves providing a vibrant and welcoming respite service for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. We are seeking enthusiastic Casual Support Workers to assist individuals in leading fulfilling lives.

As a valued member of our team, you will facilitate a variety of activities that promote enjoyment and engagement, from outdoor excursions to community events, as well as arts and crafts sessions.

Our service caters to individuals with diverse care needs and interests, requiring you to adapt your approach to ensure each person feels happy and involved in their chosen activities.

Emotional connection is key in this role, as you will be working with a changing group of service users, each with unique emotional and physical wellbeing requirements. Our focus includes providing emergency short-term care during challenging times.

At Isle of Wight Council, your contributions will be evident as individuals leave feeling more confident and capable. This role is not only rewarding but also provides a sense of accomplishment in positively impacting others' lives.

As a Support Worker, you will assist with personal care tasks as needed, including toileting, dressing, feeding, and medication administration (training provided), always promoting independence. Additionally, you will participate in domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning, ensuring a dynamic and varied workday.

Weekends are particularly busy, offering ample opportunities for those interested in weekend shifts, along with weekday availability.
