We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at Teaching Personnel. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teachers and behaviour specialists to implement behaviour management strategies and interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours, helping them develop essential social and emotional skills and promoting positive behaviour choices.
- Collaborate with school staff to create and implement behaviour support plans, ensuring consistency and continuity of support across different settings.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor, building trusting relationships with students and helping them build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with behavioural challenges is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour in challenging situations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse and evolving needs of students and the school community.
- A commitment to fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and empathy in the classroom and beyond.
