Objective of Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the support provided to refugees and individuals impacted by forced migration. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where all residents can flourish, regardless of their origins.
Role Overview
This is a multifaceted role that allows for skill development across various domains.
Welcoming Refugees: You will be responsible for coordinating the arrival of new refugee families in collaboration with government agencies, ensuring all logistical arrangements are effectively managed.
Integration Assistance: Collaborating with council services and community partners, you will address immediate needs related to welfare, health, and education, including school enrollment and benefit applications.
Your understanding of the integration process will be essential in guiding families through the initial phases of their resettlement journey.
Throughout the program, you will assist individuals in managing their finances and securing sustainable housing options as their circumstances evolve.
Case Management: You will maintain a caseload of families and individuals participating in government-funded resettlement initiatives, overseeing their integration experience.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Demonstrated knowledge of welfare benefits, housing, education, and employment support systems to promote self-sufficiency while meeting essential living needs.
Experience in providing support to vulnerable populations during periods of transition, ensuring equitable service delivery while addressing sensitive issues.
Strong networking and project management capabilities to cultivate effective partnerships with local organizations, council services, and other stakeholders.
Ability to apply high standards of casework to document and track actions taken, showcasing integration successes and responsible use of funding.
