Job Title: Senior Credit Risk ManagerWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our risk management function, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our credit risk management strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Execute Credit Risk Management Strategy: Collaborate with the Head of Credit Risk to develop and execute the credit risk management strategy in alignment with our organizational risk appetite.
- Provide Oversight and Challenge: Provide oversight and challenge to first line of defence units in identifying, assessing, and managing credit risks per established policies.
- Monitor and Evaluate Credit Risk Profile: Monitor and evaluate the credit risk profile, including various portfolios such as risk assets, lending, and investments.
- Analyse Credit Risk Metrics: Analyse credit risk metrics like expected credit losses, ECL stage distribution, and large exposures to identify trends and risks.
- Work with Stakeholders: Work with stakeholders to ensure consistent credit risk assessment practices and effective mitigation strategies.
- Develop and Implement Credit Risk Policies: Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures to enhance risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to Credit Risk Models: Contribute to the enhancement of credit risk models and methodologies for improved risk measurement and reporting.
- Present Credit Risk Reports: Present regular credit risk reports to senior management, risk committees, and regulatory bodies, highlighting key issues and recommendations.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory updates to address risks effectively.
- Mentor and Guide Junior Team Members: Mentor and guide junior team members to build a proficient and risk-aware credit risk management function.
- Coordinate MCC Meetings: Organize and coordinate MCC meetings, including agendas, documentation, and minutes.
- Ensure Governance and Decision-Making Protocols: Ensure compliance with governance and decision-making protocols during MCC meetings.
- Manage Communications and Follow-Ups: Manage communications and follow-ups related to MCC decisions and action items.
- Contribute to ICAAP: Contribute to the (ICAAP) by providing credit risk expertise to evaluate capital adequacy requirements based on the risk profile.
- Assess Impact of Credit Risk on Capital Needs: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of credit risk on capital needs and risk appetite.
- Integrate Credit Risk Considerations into ICAAP: Integrate credit risk considerations into the ICAAP framework and support the development of strategies to address capital shortfalls and enhance risk management practices.
- Participate in Regular Review and Update of ICAAP: Participate in the regular review and update of the ICAAP document, considering changes in risk profiles, regulatory requirements, and internal developments.
- Qualifications: A preference for candidates who have completed a degree in qualitative subjects.
- Experience: A wealth of experience in managing credit risk within the financial services industry, with a focus on second line of defence responsibilities.
- Deep Understanding of Credit Risk Principles: Deep understanding of credit risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory standards.
- Exceptional Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and decision-making capabilities.
