In light of ongoing expansion, we are looking for a skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to become part of a dedicated team in Liverpool.
Role Overview:
We are in search of a meticulous and knowledgeable Customs Clearance Specialist to enhance our logistics operations. The successful candidate will manage customs clearances, documentation, and declarations for both imports and exports. A strong grasp of freight forwarding practices, particularly in sea and air freight, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customs clearance procedures for both imports and exports.
- Ensure the precise and prompt preparation of customs documentation and declarations.
- Engage with customs authorities to address any issues or discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to optimize customs processes.
- Stay informed about customs regulations and compliance standards.
- Provide assistance and expertise to colleagues regarding customs-related inquiries.
- Monitor departmental systems and processes, suggesting improvements to the Customs Supervisor.
- Guarantee that all entries for imports and exports are completed within the required timeframe.
- Report unresolved issues to the Customs Supervisor when necessary.
- Adhere to established procedures consistently.
- Ensure that company standards are upheld, delivering a positive customer experience.
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience as a Customs Clearance Specialist, Customs Clerk, or in a comparable role within the logistics sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of customs regulations, import/export protocols, and freight forwarding.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing customs documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
