Overview: TEKsystems Global Services is collaborating with a leading Tier 1 Investment Bank to recruit a z/OS Systems Programmer who will contribute to various projects.

Role Responsibilities: The z/OS Systems Programmer will possess advanced technical and specialized skills to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of engineering services as technology evolves.

This role may encompass a variety of functions involving diverse products and technologies, including but not limited to:

  • Programming and support to uphold essential environmental conditions.
  • Analysis and creation of functional and technical design solutions.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in upgrading, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system.
  • Experience with ISV products, particularly from IBM and Computer Associates (CA).
  • Production support capabilities.
  • Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming.
  • Knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, and JCL.
  • Familiarity with IBM and CA products, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Availability for off-hours support during software changes and project implementations, including participation in an on-call rotation.
  • Proven track record of setting and achieving ambitious short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build effective networks across business areas, fostering relationships based on trust.
  • Experience in developing and executing comprehensive business and operational plans that yield desired outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of risk management and experience ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory processes.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, requiring one day per month in the office.
