About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineering Lead to join our Application Security Team at Wise. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring our application security engineers, conducting performance reviews, and helping plan career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor our application security engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to protect our applications and data.
- Work closely with product engineers to design solutions that improve our overall security posture.
- Develop new tools and automation for discovering and aggregating security vulnerabilities.
- Discover opportunities for optimizing the way developers address and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Streamline our product vulnerability discovery and lifecycle management across engineering teams.
- Provide security training for our engineering teams.
- Design new approaches to automating our compliance programs to ensure we meet our responsibilities as a regulated financial institution.
Requirements
- Passionate about Application Security and surrounding topics.
- Experience leading engineering teams working with sensitive applications in a production environment.
- Previous software development experience and a good understanding of modern programming approaches.
- Experience with or leading various security exercises, such as penetration testing, security researching, red teaming, or bug bounty programs.
- Experience in architectural design of complex engineering solutions, particularly to security-related problems.
- Great communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to major stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ability to track and facilitate multiple engineers working on individual projects in collaboration with other teams and find the path for success.
