Key Responsibilities:
  1. SEND Funding Process Improvement: Oversee and improve SEND funding processes to ensure efficient and effective management of resources.
  2. New SEND Places Development: Collaborate with schools and multi-academy trusts to develop new SEND places, ensuring high-quality education standards are met.
  3. Funding Agreements and Timelines: Negotiate and manage funding agreements and delivery timelines to ensure successful project outcomes.
  4. Financial Management Systems: Identify and address weaknesses in financial management systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. SEND Placement Quality: Ensure SEND placements meet quality and regulatory standards, providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students.
  6. Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  7. Project Leadership: Lead projects to deliver non-capital aspects of school place planning, driving innovation and improvement in SEND provision.
Requirements:
  1. Proven Experience: Proven experience in leading SEND funding changes and financial system improvements.
  2. SEND Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SEND statutory responsibilities and school place planning.
  3. Negotiation and Delivery: Expertise in negotiating and delivering SEND school places with schools/MATs.
  4. Senior Leadership: Senior leadership experience in a local authority or similar setting.
  5. Complex Programme Management: Skilled in managing complex educational capital programmes.
  6. Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Relationship-Building: Strong relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders.
