Job Title: Paediatric Practice Educator

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Practice Educator to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering an environment that values education as part of the practice area's philosophy.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate educational activities for registered and non-registered healthcare professionals within the paediatric setting under the supervision of the Lead Paediatric Practice Educator.
  • Actively participate in national and corporate projects, such as the QIPP agenda, Energising for Excellence work streams, Saving Lives Campaign, and Productivity agenda.
  • Work with the Clinical Educator to create an environment that values education as part of the practice area's philosophy.
  • Develop an education programme for newly qualified staff that builds on the Trust Preceptorship Programme, in collaboration with the Matron for Inpatient Paediatrics, Lead Paediatric Practice Educator, and Nurse Consultant for Acute Paediatrics.
  • Be responsive to changing needs within the practice area in relation to local and national strategic requirements.
  • Act as part of a support network for the implementation of preceptorship for newly qualified staff nurses.

Requirements:
  • Registered Children's Nurse qualification.
  • Mentorship module or Practice Assessor qualification.
  • Experience as a mentor or PA of pre and post-registration students.
  • Clinical experience at band 6 in an acute paediatric setting.
  • Ability to teach, educate, and facilitate in informal and formal situations.
