The Role

We are seeking a Deputy Editor to join our team at The Banker, a flagship publication of the Financial Times Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving our editorial coverage and working closely with our editor-in-chief to develop the publication's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement the editorial strategy for The Banker, working closely with the editor-in-chief and other senior editors.
  2. Commission and edit articles, news analysis, and long-form pieces, as well as contribute to the publication's multimedia output.
  3. Travel to industry events to report on key developments and trends.
  4. Moderate panel discussions and other events organized by The Banker and FT Live.
  5. Develop a network of freelance correspondents and commission opinion pieces from industry experts and academics.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced journalist with a strong track record of producing high-quality content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the financial sector and be able to develop fresh perspectives on key industry issues.
