Night Depot Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Depot Operations Manager to lead our night depot operations at Smiths News. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of night operations, including cost control, productivity, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of staff, providing training and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Provide accurate and timely reports to the management team, highlighting any challenges or successes.
- Work closely with the management team to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain a high level of health and safety at all times, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy.
- Work to an annual set budget and forecast, ensuring that costs are controlled and targets are met.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of success in a warehouse environment in a management position.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing a large operation and liaising at all levels.
- Outstanding communication skills and the credibility to effectively build relationships with all team members and management.
- Experience of planning and effectively executing a night operation, dealing with all issues and challenges as they arise.
- Tenacity and an effective approach to meeting and exceeding targets and delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Computer literacy and confidence in the use of technology and IT systems, including a high degree of knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent business acumen and strong commercial and financial awareness.
