Job Overview

Brightsmith | B Corp™ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Policy to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our company's policy and strategy to drive the net-zero transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic policy initiatives in response to government directives and industry trends.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging policies and regulatory frameworks affecting the clean energy sector.
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of policy changes on our business and the industry as a whole.
  • Lead and manage our response to policy changes, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Facilitate and manage consultation meetings with stakeholders, government bodies, and industry partners.
  • Produce high-quality written materials, including policy briefs, consultation responses, and position papers.
  • Provide strategic advice to our CEO and leadership team, ensuring informed decision-making and effective policy implementation.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in policy development and management, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Strong understanding of economic principles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce analytical, evidence-based materials.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Passion for driving the net-zero transition and commitment to sustainability.
